We made poop!

We made a replica of the human digestive system and moved some food through it to create… That’s right… Poop! As you can imagine it was a busy crazy and memorable activity. Check back for more photos soon.

Iḿ Back!

Well I’m finally back in class and today went off really well. Sounds like the class did a great job last week while I was away. They were mostly on topic- most of the time :-) today I’ve chosen to keep the literacy logs instead of sending them home so that I can take a look at the work that’s been done.  I’m apologizing for not staying with the same routine for this week. I will send them home tomorrow with fairly simple task and hope that they can be back in class on Friday.
In math I set the class up to explore angles last week.  Today we looked at how to compare, and create angles using everyday objects, and graph paper.  They will be judging (estimating) angles in the coming days, as well as measuring and developing an understanding of the measures in triangles.  Protractors are always welcome if you have any extras at home.  We had two students snap ones in class today....and they are pretty useful.  If you have any extras that is...
We are continuing to look at the human body, and life systems, but are also exploring properties of matter, light, and sound.
Today is Martin Luther King Jr day, and we have been preparing for this over the past few weeks by reading a biography of his life.  We continue to explore this Nobel Prize winnerś life, and the influences on him, and that he had on others all week long.
Please make sure that your child is coming with warm winter gear as we are expecting low temperatures over the next few days .  Regards,
