Gratifying Graffiti Project and Cooperative Craziness

We finally have our graffiti project behind us and it is very gratifying to see the results of our hard work displayed in the hallway for all to enjoy.  We have had quite a few nice comments shared with us by passersby.  This was a culminating project that came from our Black History Month work that included a look at the four pillars of hip hop culture, and then a focus on Hip Hop in March when we were exploring style in writing through poetry.  Each student started with elements of design like space, line, and form, and worked out their overall pieces in rough before transferring them onto the boxcars.  The results of their efforts are eyecatching!

We have put a lot of time into cooperative activities over the past month.  Here students are participating in a game called "touchdown" which involves partners working together on throw and catch skills in a fun and energetic way.
