As hosts of the sharing we were responsible for organizing, setting up, and introducing the different acts during the sharing. In addition to this we presented our own mini performance during the sharing. Based on some questions we collected during math class, we presented some math related facts about remembrance day, and the role of Canadians in conflicts over the past 100 years. Every single student in room 211 stepped up to the microphone either to introduce, or to present during our own class presentation. They all did a wonderful job, and received many warm complements after the sharing. Even today I bumped into people who spoke very kindly about the job our class did yesterday at the Churchill remembrance Day event.
In the afternoon we travel down to the Westboro cenotaph, to participate in and watch the ceremony there. Again, the students from room 211 did themselves proud that only during our performance of three songs, with the ukulele and guitar clubs, but also as they observe the ceremony. Churchill has been the most regular School in attendance at this event over the past 12 years, and yesterday I believe we were the largest group in attandance. Students were not only able to observe the event, but many of us got to rub elbows with local politicians, including Jim Watson who stopped to speak with us. Again the students did them selves and our community proud, and hopefully walked away with some memories that they will hold onto for a lifetime.
