Tree Planting Legacy

Today the students in Room 211 left their mark on our local community, and on our planet, as they joined a Churchill tradition that goes back 16 years, and planted trees at the Baxter conservation center.  It was perfect weather, and the attitudes of the group were just right for this important outing.  Students who leave Churchill always recall this as one of their favourite events during their time here, and I am willing to bet that today's event left a similar mark on this group.
Room 211 planted 350 saplings, out of the 1000 total that the group of four classes planted today, so if your child is tired tonight, it is rightfully so.  The day was busy, filled with travel, transition, work, and some play in the field.  Again, attitudes were right on for the event, and we worked well with the students from Centennial PS, as well as the other two groups from Churchill.  Big thanks to Kathy, who works with us during language each week, as she came along for the trip.
Now our eyes are ahead to the big Bill Mason trip on the 14th!
Congrats once again 211ers for joining a legacy of tree planting and helping the Earth!
