Day One!

Well, we did it!  Day one is in the bag, and we all survived.  It was fantastic to see all of the smiling faces this morning as we kicked off 2019-20.  I am happy to say that, although they looked a bit more worn out and tired by the end of the day, most of those faces were pretty happy looking still by the end of the day.  Some new combinations in the classroom made for a great day of getting to know each other.  We will continue in this vein for a few days, with lots of energizers and icebreakers mixed in with some diagnostic work on math and language.
Today everyone came home with a newsletter from me, and information to be checked out regarding student registration through the office.  Please look these over.
Students also came home with their first "homework" in the form of a paper bag they are to fill with 5 items they can show the class and use to help us get to know them better.  We did a demonstration in class today, so they have a good idea of what is expected.  We will be sharing these in class between now and Friday, so make sure your child brings their bag back!
More information will come.  It has been a good start so far!  Stay tuned!
