A magical day!!!

Today's trip to the Gatineaus was picture perfect from beginning to end.  The parkway is closed for the winter season until tomorrow, so very few visitors venture up to Mackenzie King's estate yet at this time of year.  This gave us virtually an empty park to explore.  We smacked once we arrived, and then talked about the estate, PM King (our longest serving PM), and our goals for the day.
I told the class that my success criteria for the trip would be to see bigg buddies from room 308 walking and talking with little buddies from room 301, to see everyone respecting the park and trails, and to see lots of smiles.  I am happy to say that everyone met those criteria with flying colours.  The students did themselves, Churchill, and the community proud today with their respectfulness, enthusiasm, and overall inclusive attitude.  Lots of hiking, great views, fun games, and wonderful memories.  And many of them learned how to cartwheel...
And my phone registered over 10 km of movement in the park, so the students deserve to sleep well tonight, as they ran around even more than I did!
