Our trip to Parliament Hill did not go off a smoothly as we had planned, in terms of the OC transpo portion, but it was a fantastic day in the end. The LRT was not working when we arrived there by bus, so we were just taken right downtown by bus. We visited the new House of Commons, located in the old courtyard of the west block of parliament, and then the new Senate Chambers in the old central train station, across from Chateau Laurier. Both were very informative tours, but I think we were most impressed by the West Block site. In the end, our group had a lot of firsts. We were the first Churchill class to visit the new House, and the new Senate, and we were the first Churchill class to ride on the LRT when we caught it coming back. There were a lot of kilometers put on over the course of the day, and I am sure that everyone slept well that night!
