Happy March break everyone

As you know doubt have heard this has been a bit of a strange week for me and the class. On top of the seasonal cold that I was suffering with, that kept me away on Monday with laryngitis, the stomach flu hit me and my whole family Wednesday.  This dragged through Thursday and Friday.  School policy with he stomach flu kept me out of the class Thursday and Friday because I needed to pass a more than 48 hour incubation period, which was disappointing for me as I really wanted to spend the last days leading up to March break with the class.
I was able to say hello and goodbye  to the class today during first period.  I tried to set up the last day as a bit of a celebration as this was our last day with Evan in our class. He will be moving to Florida to start next school year and his parents are getting a jump on this by removing him from Churchill for the spring so they can be there and settled in as the summer season stops in early August.  We are very sad to see him go but excited for the new adventure that he is about to begin.
So our last week was filled with special events guest teachers and occasional appearances by myself. We got through the majority of the speeches but there are a few outstanding because unfortunately I was not able to hear everyone's. Those that did present were fabulous and those who are still left I know will do an unbelievable job especially with the extra week of practice.  If your child has an presented yet please remind them to give it a run through before they come back after the break. I wish everybody a happy and healthy March break and I will see you in the spring. Bring on the sun!
