Music and the Messages

We have been hard at work on our exploration of poetry since the start of March.  Part of this has involved the decoding of poems, which leads to the analysis of meanings in song.  Here are a few we have looked at in class.  Talk to your child about the meanings that they have discovered behind these songs.
Students first listen to the songs, and note key words and phrases heard throughout.  Then they listen again while trying to decipher what the meaning or main idea of the song is.  It is often obvious, and sometimes it is open to interpretation.  Check these out.  Today we are looking at the song by local artist Danny Michel.  Of note, this song is cited in curriculums around the world, including some in England, and Germany, due to the theme and wording.  Local boy makes good!  Give it a listen fpr sure.
